Online People Counting Systems
SensMax offers an advanced professional solution for wireless online visitor counting in retail stores, shopping malls, offices, and public buildings. The system is based on autonomous battery-powered IR sensors and wireless data collectors (gateways) that transmit the collected data to the SensGuard cloud monitoring system or your own server.
The system uses infrared beam splitting technology to detect and register crossings, providing continuous footfall monitoring in real-time or according to a set schedule.
Key advantages of SensMax systems
[!NOTE] Autonomy and wireless connection: The absence of the need to run power and data cables significantly reduces installation and launch costs.
- Ultra-long battery life: The sensors run on standard AA batteries for up to 2 years.
- Easy installation: Devices are mounted to walls or door frames using double-sided tape or special brackets in 2–3 minutes.
- Privacy (GDPR Compliant): The sensors only record quantitative anonymous passing facts, without collecting biometric, personal, or video data of visitors.
- Flexible connection scenarios: Data transmission from gateways via Wi-Fi or Ethernet, support for MQTT protocols and API for integration with external systems (ERP, CRM, BI).
Architecture and radio communication range
Sensors and gateways are divided into three product lines based on frequency range and wireless communication distance, allowing you to choose the optimal equipment for any facility:
| Series / Modification | Operating frequency | Communication range (line of sight) | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pro | 2.4 GHz | up to 50 meters | Small stores, offices, checkout zones |
| LR (Long Range) | 868 / 915 MHz | from 150 to 250 meters | Supermarkets and retail areas |
| SLR (Super Long Range) | 868 / 915 MHz | up to 800–1000 meters | Large shopping malls and distributed facilities |
Main system components
The following types of equipment are used to build a complete counting system:
- Bidirectional sensors (D3 Series): Three-beam sensors capable of determining the direction of movement (in / out).
- Unidirectional sensors (S1 Series): Single-beam sensors for simple summative passing counts.
- Loyalty buttons (L3 Series): Wireless customer satisfaction survey buttons (smileys). In SensMax software, their data can be combined with visitor counter statistics.
- Data collectors (SMX Gateways): Receivers that collect data from sensors via a radio channel and send it via Wi-Fi or Ethernet to a server.
-
D3 Series (bidirectional)
Advanced three-beam infrared sensors for tracking the direction of movement.
-
S1 Series (unidirectional)
Standard sensors for simple visitor counting.
-
L3 Series (loyalty button)
